Tetra Star Pattern

These striking geometric beadwork vessels (or pendants, or ornaments) turn circles into triangles and then into pyramids and then beyond for fabulous 3-Dimensional Stars which have a hidden secret…

This advanced pattern uses Peyote Stitch and its 39-pages go into great depth on how to bead one of the many versions mentioned (for example it describes both with and without crystals, or mixed-and-matched and then with or without a functioning lid).

The instructions cover not only making triangles needed but how to join them for a clean and neat finish with no extra beads or spaces in the end result. This technique I have developed also means that you can join any other triangles you have made into your own Tetra Star (how about making one using Rivoli Triangles from Rivoli Beadwork or the triangle components from my Crystal Icons or Icos patterns...).

Materials needed:

  • Cylinder beads. If making a version without crystals then any size can be used. If making a version with crystals then you'll need size 15 Delicas
  • Size 15 Miyuki seed beads
  • 24 x 8mm Rivolis or Chatons
  • Needle and thread of choice
  • Fine chain (optional)

All tutorials contain full instructions and tips as well as check lists for all tools, materials & techniques needed to help you shop and plan.
