MY PRIVACY POLICY
This privacy notice tells you about the information I collect and hold on you for the sole purpose of running my business. In collecting this information I am acting as a data controller and, by law, I am required to provide you with information about myself, about why and how I use your data, and about the rights you have over your data.
Privacy
- I only store data relevant to running my business and providing you the best service possible
- I only store data for as long as is necessary
- I never sell your data
- I only share your data when it is necessary for me to run my business and fulfil any business contract we have (for example I give your address to the postal service when sending you items)
- I give you ways to manage and review your marketing choices (for example all my newsletters have an 'unsubscribe' button in them)
I only store or use your data when it is lawful for me to do so. Some examples of the occasions or reasons I store your data and what data I store are:
- When you consent to it e.g. signing up to my newsletter
- To fulfil a contract I have with you e.g. sending you out an order
- When it is my legal duty e.g. complying with HMRC tax records
- When it is in my legitimate interest e.g. if you have given me permission to share a photo of an item you have made to my blog or Facebook page
Data Storage
- I hold both paper and electronic records. These include, but are not limited to: all emails sent and received; notification of orders from PayPal and E-junkie; written consent from individuals to be sent class files
Financial information
- I hold no financial information on any individual. Financial information for online or in person payments are not held by myself and are managed by PayPal and I cannot access it at any time
- When processing financial information by telephone, or in person, I do not write down or record any of the information given to me except what is necessary in the PayPal payment app/ terminal to process the payment. Once this information has been sent to PayPal to complete the transaction I have no record of it and cannot access it again
Third Parties I use
- PayPal - I use them to process all financial transactions on my website and in person. I only access information through PayPal that is necessary for me to run my business and fulfill any business contract we have (for example your email or delivery address). I am never given any financial information. You can view PayPal's privacy policy here
- E-Junkie - this company is used to process sale information and I access this for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to, obtaining email addresses to send out product updates or corrections. They don't give me any financial information. You can view E-Junkie's privacy policy here
- Amazon - I sell some items on Amazon. When I am the one posting out the product I am given the relevant name and address but otherwise I receive no personal information from Amazon. You can view Amazon's privacy policy here
- Etsy - I sell some items on Etsy. I am given the relevant name and email address which I may use to send out product updates or corrections, but otherwise I receive no personal information from Etsy. You can view Etsy's privacy policy here
- Teachable - I sell video classes on Teachable. Through them I am given your name and email address so I can contact you, information on the IP address where the account is logged-in and information on what you bought and how much you paid etc to do my accounts. You can view their privacy policy here
- Bead-Patterns.com - I sell patterns on Bead-patterns.com and Sova-Enterprises.com. I am given no customer information at all. You can view their security policy here
- MailChimp - My newsletter and some other products (e.g. Beadalongs) are managed by MailChimp. I can access information you have provided to them (for example your name and email address) to help me administer the list and contact you. You can view their privacy policy here
- Email and website host - The website host will collect non-personally identifying information such as, but not limited to, browser type and the time and date of each visitor. It will also collect potentially personally-identifying information such as, but not limited to, IP address. Generally this information is used so we can see visitor statistics such as where visitors have come from and what pages they have looked at
- Cloud storage - All of my computer files are backed up to a cloud storage provider. All providers we use are to the best of our knowledge GDPR compliant
Cookies
A cookie is a small file which is placed on your computer's hard drive by a website. We use 2 of them on this website:
- jp_cookieConsent: Lets this website know if the cookie notice has been displayed
- jp_cookieFilter: Lets this website store some preferences set by the user e.g. the different filter options on the 'Kits' page
If you don't wish to have cookies placed on your browser there should be a setting within it to refuse cookies, with the drawback that certain features of this website may not function properly without the aid of cookies.
Third Party Cookies
This website uses suppliers who also set cookies in order to deliver the services that they are providing. If you would like more information about the cookies used by these suppliers, as well as information on how to opt-out, please see their individual privacy policies listed below.

- My website contains links to other websites of interest. However please note, I do not have control over the content or operation of other websites and therefore cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information you provide to them
Your Data Rights
- Right to accuracy - The data held by myself can only be as accurate as the information supplied to me and I want to ensure that any personal information I hold is accurate so you can contact me on jean@jeanpower.com to update or alter any information
- Right of access - You can ask me at any time what information I hold on you by contacting me on jean@jeanpower.com
- Right of erasure - You can at any time request the removal of your personal data by contacting me on jean@jeanpower.com. It should be noted that the removal of all personal data (including contact details) may result in us no longer being able to carry out certain business actions which includes, but is not limited to; sending out product updates, sending out newsletters, taking or processing orders
- You do not have to pay a fee to access your personal information however I may charge a reasonable fee if your request is repetitive or excessive
