We've got today off before the Maggie Meister master class begins and we spend it in central London with a visit to the amazing Hand & Lock, a trip to Liberty and a great hours-long lunch full of good food & conversation at one of my favourite restaurants.

We've got 2 days off before the Maggie Meister master class begins and we spend it enjoying Hitchin which is a lovely town and full of great restaurants and independent stores and feels very Christmassy.

It's Day 1 of Bead Sparks 2023 and it's so busy I barely took any photos but it was wonderful to do an in-person class and at the end of the day look at everyone's beautiful beadwork which is one of the highlights of a in-person class.

Day 2 of the 'English Banqueting and Dessert Dishes' course at the School of Artisan Food with Ivan Day and today we worked on making a whipped syllabub (using a handwritten recipe from ~1670 and placing into glasses from the 1700s) using birch whisks plus a handmade syllabub pump, cooking wafers...
