Where we are staying in New York is a very busy shopping district and it's shocking to see just how much time people devote to shopping. As we leave our apartment there are continual hoardes of people psuhing past each over in a crazy kind of panic trying to get into clothes shops

Would you be horrified if I told you that pretty much all I did today was sleep, have a manicure and pedicure (ah the bliss of sitting in a massage chair for 3 hours periodicially dozing and watching a film whilst being pampered), ate and drank?

This is my 4th visit to New York and it has become a tradition to start the trip with eating at the Broadway Restaurant and this year is no different (ok, it was delayed a day).

Worrying about all the books being picked up by Royal Mail kept me awake until 6am (11am Uk time) when I received a text letting me know they had all gone.

I woke up today to the news that my flight was delayed by 2 hours which proved to be a good thing as it gave me 2 extra hours to spend on the phone to Royal Mail asking them to turn up today, unlike yesterday.

Update- after numerous emails and phonecalls (even with Royal Mail kindly giving me the wrong number to ring back on at one point) the new pickup is scheduled for this afternoon. I wonder if they'll redeeem themselves and turn up?...

I can't even begin to tell you just how many times I have rung or emailed the printers over the past few weeks. Doing this book has been so stressful and it all coming down to the wire like this is giving me heart palpitations.

I am still frantically working away labelling envelopes, filling out customs forms, sticking on airmail labels and a million and one other little jobs which don't sound much but when repeated hundreds of times are sending me into a whirl.
