Sticks & Stones Revisited

posted: Tuesday, 14 July 2026

I'm revisiting another previously launched pattern today, and another CRAW project too (for some reason CRAW is on my mind…).

Sticks & Stones is a series of bracelets (and beyond…) which combine Cubic Right-Angle Weave (CRAW) components and a mix of beads to create a versatile, reversible pieces with many possibilities.

Suitable whether or not you have ever beaded CRAW before, the detailed 23-page intermediate instructions include full information on learning the stitch along with how to bead the 'sticks' that give the piece its name.
Also included are instructions on taking it a step further and making curved or chevron shaped components as well as how to turn your pieces into a bracelet strung on elastic or use them in necklaces and earrings.

A full requirements list is included but the basic materials needed are:

  • Size 11 seed beads
  • Size 15 seed beads (optional)
  • Feature beads e.g. 2-3mm glass beads, 2-3mm fire-polished beads, 2-3mm rounds or bicones, size 8 or 6 seed beads
  • Needle and thread of choice
  • Beading elastic or stringing material of choice (optional)
