Our first full day in Paris is spent trying to fit in as many things as we can and we begin with a trip to the Van Cleef & Arpels jewellery school to see their exhibition 'Paris: City of Pearls'.

This exhibition was what first put the idea of visiting Paris in my head and then when I realised we could also see the Dolce & Gabbana one (see yesterday's post) then it was a sealed deal and both have been worth travelling for.

This exhibition includes lots of striking jewellery (both modern and more classic) along with artwork and displays all about the beauty of pearls.

Next up (after a wonderful lunch at Bouillion Chartier) we headed to the Louvre to see their Louvre Couture exhibition which has 100 beautiful fashion items (a mix of outfits and accessories) displayed throughout their collection which combines the items themselves with beautiful surroundings.

There were so many delightful pieces to see but I warn you: make sure you get the map and allow yourself at least 2 hours to wander looking for them!

Last thing today was a visit to the beautiful Maxim's for frogs legs & cocktails.
