Small Beads And Big News

I got a very exciting email today- a book I have been working on behind the scenes has been 'greenlit' and is finally happening.

The book, which will be called 'Small Beads, Big Jewelry' will be on the shelves in January 2014 so I have six months to get it all done...just in time for me to start on volume 2 of Geometric Beadwork!

The book will have 30 different projects, 20 from me and 10 from specially selected designers, and I can't wait to be able to showcase their work.

I have a book meeting next Friday where we'll firm up all the details and the time-line and then it will be full steam ahead.

Until then I'll be busy still updating my patterns and today's re-vamped one is Cubed Cubes. I can't tell you how much I adore this pattern. It was one of the first I ever developed and one of the first I had published- way back in June 2006. I love cube beads but they are so fiddly to make 3-dimensional pieces with and I was determined to find a way to overcomethat- and with a bit of playing around I did.

You can follow the evolution of the design on the 'Series' section of my website where quite a few of my designs are shown from their initial concept to final piece.

I really enjoyed getting all the pieces out today and photographing them again. I may even root out some cube beads and get making another piece...
