Cubed Cubes

Build cubes with cubes for an unusual range of jewellery. If you've ever played around with cube beads you'll already know that their flat sides make for trouble when you want to experiment or embellish with them- needles don't like going around corners! But in these instructions I show you a method I developed to overcome that enabling you to cube away to your heart's desire.

My Cubed Cubes series began from simply playing around with a piece of square stitch. I developed the idea so it can be used to make beads, necklaces, pendants, bracelets, earrings and even vessels. These instructions also explore embellishing square stitch with cube beads in a unique, painless way that I developed.

This complete step-by-step, 13-page tutorial contains all the instructions, diagrams and photos you will need to make your own range of Cubed Cube items. There are over 35 photos and diagrams to help you on your way.

Materials:

  • Cube beads of any size of your choice
  • Beading needle and thread of choice
  • Beading wax- optional but helpful

All tutorials contain full instructions and tips as well as check lists for all tools, materials and techniques needed to help you shop and plan.

A basic knowledge of square stitch may be of help for these instructions but isn't essential.
