I am very fortunate to have a lovely group of friends in New York and today was a beady get-together with them and it was great to see different people's interpretations of the designs from Geometric Beadwork and also Beadwork magazine.

After the beading was all done we once again attempted to get into Empire Rooms- and this time it was open- 4th ltime lucky!

The bar itself is gorgeous and even though it is fairly new it does have the air of 'faded glory' I was promised. The surroundings made me want to sit there all night. But...was it worth the wait? Surroundings and a-single-drink-wise yes. But they have a very limited menu and the bartender didn't know how to make any other drinks (or know what the ones she was making would taste like which was weird) which may explain which this beautiful place isn't packed out every night.
