It's All Go

I awaken to yet another sunny day in Tucson, made all the sunnier to me because last night, before I went to sleep, I finished my latest bangle. The joy of remembering that on waking gets me out of bed and hitting the ground running.

In the end I used 73 colours to complete the piece and rise this morning having made the decision to spend my morning taking photos and entering the piece in Bead Dreams. I have no expectations of it doing well, but am pleased that I made the deadline and finished a piece I have had the vision of for a while.

Photos done, and entry completed, it's time for more book talk and after much, much discussion we have settled on 'Contemporary Geometric Beadwork'.

Choosing a title is hard as we have so much we want to express and narrowing that all down 2-3 words which capture that, will tempt readers and also reassure everyone that all we will present is within your grasp- and it will be. We have so much more planned for the book, and its pages, which will be revealed over the coming weeks and months.

Soon its time for lunch, and a walk, and we head towards a nearby hotel and restaurant for some exercise and food. Wonderfully the hotel has orange trees and not only do they allow you to pick the oranges, they actively encourage this and even provide a fruit picker to help you. I just want to reassure you that I was a natural at fruit picking, and any photos you may find on the internet which appear to show anything different are not to be believed.

Soon we're heading home laden down with oranges.

The rest of the sunlight is spent beginning a new beading project using glorious blue and copper beads, sipping vodka and freshly squeezed orange juice and watching the sun go down and the moon rise.
