More Work And Wire

The weather seems to have turned wintery again, so I am inclined to stay at home and snuggle up watching rubbish TV- and I do just this for most of the day.

I am a huge fan of crime drama such as 'Law & Order', 'Waking The Dead' and 'CSI' so a 2-hour fest of 'Waking The Dead' followed by 3 episodes of' Law & Order' is heaven for me. I love TV that I can day-dream, bead and wander away from and these suit me perfectly.

Subtitles, too confusing a plot and having to look at the screen don't suit me any more. I save these for my trips to the cinema where I sit mesmerised by the screen for once without beading or wirework in my hands distracting me.

Last year I read an amazing book, 'Teach us to sit still' by Tim Parks which resonated with me so much, perhaps more so now as I look back on it. Ever since, I have meant to learn to sit still with myself and not feel the need for distractions or interruption, but so far have not. Perhaps now is the time.

At one point I do actually get out of bed and continue watching TV whilst working away on my wirework projects. Using copper wire and colourful beads adds the warmth the weather isn't providing.

The evening brings a trip out to see a band formed of some friends, listen to some loud music and socialise.
