Barcelona Beadventure - Day 4

posted: Saturday, 26 April 2025

An early start today for some wandering the shops before out group plans and after a visit to the food market for some fresh fruit ice lollies we headed to Ganiveteria Roca which is a scissor & knife shop founded in 1911.

This is a treasure trove of a place and worth a visit just to see their window displays.

Today's trip was to the Palau de la Música Catalana which is simply outstanding and before I discovered the star on Sagrada Família was the inspiration for the project I planned to teach on this trip (that project will appear soonish as a class...).

This is a stunning building which, much like all of Barcelona, is ornately decorated but its main feature is an incredible glass ceiling which is full of colour and beautiful stained glass work.

But the whole building is a feast for the eyes with incredible mosaic work, tiles, lighting and more.
