Today begins with a visit to Palau Güell which is simply astounding.
It was fascinating to learn more about Antoni Gaudi and his work and to see his design ethos in action.
There was so much to see but one highlight was getting to see a colourful chimney on the roof which 15 years ago inspired a colour scheme I used for my Geometric Secret project. I hadn't expected to ever see it in real life so to be able to stand right next to it after all those years was truly amazing.
Next up was popping on the other open-top bus route to see even more of the city.
After lunch (I went to the local food market for sardines, salad & croquettes) and then headed off to see the sea front and the 3 Chimneys which had intrigued me since I spotted them as we flew into Barcelona. I had a paddle in the sea and an ice-cold beer before heading for dinner my mind full of all I'd seen.
