Chanel At The V&A

Today I went to see 'Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto' at the Victoria and Albert Museum and it's hard to know what to say.

So much beautiful, beautiful work displayed so badly it's a true shame.
Almost all the pieces (apart from a few at the end) are behind very reflective glass (and with very low light which adds to the glare) that it is almost impossible to see any detail or all the intricate work.

It is interesting, and there are some lovely films, but when you try to look through the glass at anything all you can see is darkness plus your reflection or the reflection of a film or pieces behind you (these photos are the best I could edit to remove reflection and lighten).

The V&A have previously staged amazing couture shows which I have returned to multiple times, but this was full of people struggling to see and many leaving as seeing the pieces was proving too hard.
