I love beading in grey, especially one with a bit of an AB coating such as this Delica #1579 as they really let other colours shine such as the pop I got when I added in the silver #1831.
Grey works really well as a 'neutral' in beadwork, as long is it's not too matte and 'chalky'.
#1579 or #168 (my favourite) are both perfect to use with any other colour as their subtle AB coating contains so many other colours.
