For over a decade I've wanted an ice-cream maker but thought it too frivolous (which it is really) but last week I realised I'd probably thought of it at least once a week and that meant over 500 thoughts of regret.
Then the combination of getting a book from on making ice-cream and the amazing dream ice-cream maker I'd set my heart on being on sale told me it was finally time to bite the bullet.
Once it arrived I made the best coffee ice cream I've ever had - unsweetened and as bitter as I've always craved it - and then I knew it was worth it.
Today I'm making fresh grapefruit curd to turn into ice cream later and I learnt a big lesson about sometimes just needing to do the frivolous thing.
