Phew - it's been a very long time in the planning but the Bead Sparks bead retreat starts tomorrow and so we headed off there today (via Heathrow to pick up a lovely student) with car loads of goodies to greet all the students who are arriving tonight, and to spend a few hours packing goodie bags and preparing our teaching rooms etc.
One very fun thing we're excited to have in the goodie bag, and the goodie bag itself, both feature our logo which has had a long journey to where it is today.
Back when we were planning the retreat we had made a lot of decisions but one thing we were at a loss with for a while was vitally important… a name.
We knew that we didn't want a name which tied us to any geographical location or theme (or that claimed we were the only people doing this) and it was important that it didn't feature our names or initials, as I knew from the start that my plan was to have different teachers from year to year. Lots of brain-storming later and the fabulous Stephanie Burnham came up with the perfect name; Bead Sparks.
Right-away we knew it was the one for us and I immediately began to sketch the logo which came to mind, and thought it would go through quite a few iterations on the road to the finished article, it's great to see it today adorn our goodie bags and some enamel pins/ needle-minders we had made especially.
