Kumihimo And Proofing

A very early start today to head down to StitchnCraft Beads to be a student for a couple of days.

I had originally booked two courses as a treat for me for when the book was all done... but that hasn't worked out and we're still in the throes of it all.
I was tempted to not take the classes and stay at home proofreading and doing all the changes that will need doing, but took the leap and caught the train and I was so glad I did.

I began to proof the book (all 167 pages of it!!) all the way there on the train and although it's annoying to spot errors etc I'm glad we do so much proofing to try and ensure I put out the best quality product I can.

Once I landed in Gillingham I felt my stresses begin to ebb away I was ready for a day of fun with the lovely Pru McRae.

Even though I've owned Kumihimo disks for at least a decade (which of course I couldn't find at 1am today when I tried to panickedly pack before going to bed) I haven't never dared to give it a go.
I've always convinced myself that it would be tricky, I'd run out of cords and get into a tangle. So when I saw that I could do a class with Pru I leapt at the chance and it really was worth it.

I learnt so much over the day and even managed to finish both of my pieces. Pru is a great teacher with lots of ideas & inspiration and was willing to answer any questions and give support which I really needed (I'm a very anxious student which I hope helps me to be empathetic as a teacher!)

After class it was out for a pub dinner by myself with more proofing, then bed (with more proofing) before collapsing asleep at 7pm.
