Monochrome Exhibition - Part 1

A trip to the National Gallery today to see the wonderful Monochrome exhibition.

It's a very interesting and educating exhibition and I really enjoyed learning more about artists using monochrome in their work and their reasons for this.

But the unexpected highlight of the show was the 'Room for one colour' by Olafur Eliasson. I can't put into words how strange it is to walk into a room which is so colourful...but that makes (almost) everything else lose its colour. We were instantly greyed out as were our colourful clothes and possessions. Everything looked so different without colour - you were much more aware of nuances and subtle details now leapt out.

I urge you to go to it if you can - It will fill you with awe.
