Woe To Being Finished

Replace 'picture' with 'project' and 'painter' with 'beader' and this great quote from Pablo Picasso sums up how I feel about my work.

'Woe to you the day it is said that you are finished!
To finish a work?
To finish a picture?
What nonsense!
To finish it means to be through with it, to kill it, to rid it of its soul – to give it its final blow; the most unfortunate one for the painter as well as for the picture'

All of my beadwork is in constant flux with projects being returned to again & again as I think of new variations, different techniques or possibilities.

I think a big part of why I love my work is that it's never fully finished & can always be improved or adapted and, even as I finish my threads and tidy away, I know that in some way, some how I'll pick it up again in the future and its journey will continue
