Many years ago, through my work on Bead magazine, I 'met' Katie Dean who does lovely miniature beadwork. We finally got to meet in person recently and this week Katie popped to see me and my students and kindly brought along some of her beadwork.
It was such a treat to see it in real life! Until now I hadn't realised just how much I wanted to bead a doughnut, or a cake slice, or a jam tart...and am now eagerly awaiting her new book on the subject.
Our week of beading is going well and everyone is working hard. My brain is full of ropes and tubes and wondrous samples and finished projects are appearing in all manner of shapes, sizes and colours as the days progress.
