- A jaw-droppingly wonderful Olympics opening ceremony (starring some of my friends and their subsequent starring role on the NY Times blog. Check out the 2nd, 3rd, 8th, 9th and 10th photos here for some of my roller derby team- and nope, not a one of them is a real nurse.)
- A few hours off work in the park to enjoy lunch
- A new sighting of my favourite dog on wheels
and I'm good to go.
