Cryptozoology

I seem to have a brain that is never satisfied and I'm always on the look-out for new information and strange facts, so when I first found out about The Last Tuesday Society I was really pleased.

I have been receiving their newsletter for a long time but, until now, had not managed to visit them. So when I found out about a lecture they were running on the subject of Cryptozoology I knew I had to be there!

As soon as I arrived at the venue I knew I needed to visit here more often. The shop (sorry no photos, you'll have to visit them yourself, check out their website or use your crazy imagination) is stuffed full of unusual objects, strange books, jars of medical items (real or unreal? who knows) and beautiful items for sale.

The lecture, given by Richard Freeman, ran for over two hours and had me gripped from the start. Some of the animals, real or mythical, I had heard of and it was really interesting to learn more about them, especially from someone who has actual experience of searching for them.

Once the lecture was over, we had the chance to explore the shop fully and I could have spent hours looking at every item- but I'll have to save that for another time.

On the way out I discovered cabinets full of jewellery to purchase. That's not like me, I usually spot the jewellery first thing!

I had been looking at the wonderful and unusual jewellery by Momocreatura for some months now but not been to see them in person so I was pleased to see some of her work in a cabinet. After a lot of "umming and ahhing" I finally made my choice and settled on a hole-in-the-heart rabbit ring, which hasn't been off my finger since. I am very pleased with myself for turning an education event into a jewellery buying one!
