Colour And Heat

Off to Paris today and, after a panicky start with the trains not running, I eventually got there- just in time for it to break out into a heatwave!

It was unbelievably hot- not the perfect day to choose for wandering around carrying luggage- but still, I was away in Paris, what did I care?!?

My first stop was The Museum of Decorative Arts and lunch at the restaurant there. I sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine and the wonderful views out over the grounds of The Louvre, The Eiffel Tower and The big wheel.

Lunch was a melon gazpacho with some flavour of sorbert with a crazy, hard piece of bread. I tasted a bit of the bread- just the end- and didn't like it.

Shame they didn't spot I had broken the end off the bread when they 'recycled' it back on my plate for my next course- tuna carpaccio. At least I hope it was my bit of bread!

Once fed and watered, I headed into the museum to see the fanatastic displays. There were so many beautiful pieces inside- including these pieces of glass- and you can see more photos on my Colour Challenge blog.

After the museum, and a visit to their wonderful shop, I went off for more wandering around Paris and though I didn't find any of the beads I was looking for I did find some nice jewellery.

Exhausted and hot I headed for my hotel to get some sleep and enjoy the air-conditioning before my next full day of wandering.
