March Meet The Maker - Day 23 - Studio Playlist

posted: Wednesday, 23 March 2016

It's Day 23 of March Meet The Maker and the theme is: Studio Playlist.

I've always had an eclectic taste in music which continues to this day.

When working I veer between listening to music, Radio 4 or podcasts depending on my mood and how much I need to concentrate on what I'm doing.

Music-wise I swap between more melodic artists such as Neil Young, Paul Simon, Hozier, Antony and the Johnsons, Andrew Wyatt/ Mike Snow, Fun, Lana Del Ray & Sia and interchange pop/ rock/ metal and rap listening to a lot of Drake, Beyoncé, Katie Perry, Kanye West, Roots Manuva, Peaches, Beastie Boys, Led Zeppelin, Mark Ronson (in all his guises), Ellie Goulding, Pink and Rihanna plus a whole load of pop one-hit wonders.

Pocast-wise I am interested in EVERYTHING so listen to a multitude of podcasts from around the world and covering a wide-range of subjects. Some current favourites are:

  • Reply All
  • The Memory Palace
  • The Allusionist
  • Sampler
  • Thinking Sideways
  • Love + Radio

  • Stuff You Should Know
  • Slate's The Gist

  • and I think that's enough for now!

I had a quiet start to the day and then lunch with the lovely Stacy Creamer before heading off to Rita's Needlepoint and the wonderful Annie & Company Needlepoint & Knitting where I treated myself to a new needlepoint canvas (one day I'll find the time to stitch them all).

Dinner was pizza where Mr Jean Power showed everyone just what he was made of and astounded even the waiters as he ate a pizza almost as big as himself.
