New York 2014 - Day 5

posted: Tuesday, 29 April 2014

Another day and another slight adjustment of my neck to keep it all in check before we head off to wander Manhattan.

Along the way, how strange, we ended up at York Beads where I was fairly restrained in my shopping and Mr Jean Power got to visit his first bead shop!

It was fun to see his amazement at the range of beads available and have him spend time pointing out new and exciting beads, encourage me to buy them and ask me what I would do with them. Most unexpectedly he turned out to be a good bead shopping companion, though I'm not sure how enthusiastic he would be to repeat the experience.

Our next stop was to Pottery Barn mainly as I wanted to look at a whale drink cooler I had spotted in Chicago and see if I didn't love it as much as I had previously. I was hoping it didn't live up to my memory, and I wouldn't then have to debate whether or not to buy it and how on earth I would get it home. But once we found it it proved to be even better than I remembered and a lot lighter than I remembered...and it looks good in its new home...

Though Mr Jean Power does most definitely not agree.
