I've been meaning for months now to visit the pearls exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum but the panic of realising it soon finishes finally got me there today.

The show itself was great and it was interesting to learn more about how pearls grow and see some incredible pieces made with them. I was also pleased to get to see some new work by Nicola Malkin. I have long admired her large-scale/ out-sized jewellery and now I'm seriously coveting a pair of her earrings...

I met up with a friend, Katie Dean, and between catching up and seeing lovely jewellery I had a great day and headed home inspired to finally begin a pearls project that has been sitting on my to-bead list for a good year or more.
