When Life Gives You Lemons...

...leave the country" is my new motto. I'm not sure how much I'll actually be able to live by it but it worked great yesterday.

We're still stuck in the middle of house-buying and selling and ready to tear our hair out at the stress of it all, especially when people behave unnecessarily badly and that behaviour ripples through the whole process. We're trying to be pro-active and organised and so much of our house is packed up and in storage which makes for a trying time working in the middle of it all and I'm rapidly losing any sense of what is where.

We were faced with a weekend of more packing and stress when I spoke to my parents and their plans for the weekend. They were having a coffee morning with a big group of friends and my mum (who is an amazing baker) had been working hard and as she reeled off all she would be serving and I imagined a weekend away from home catching up with my parents and resting it occured to me that we could just run away and surprise them.

So we did.

Within an hour or so we'd headed out and within 4 hours we were 5 minutes from them when we suddenly panicked that they may have last minute gone away for the night.

One phonecall to double check later and 5 minutes driving later we were in a whole other world with the stress of moving a far off memory.

This morning we woke early and helped set up and got to spend most of the day chatting, drinking coffee, eating cake and laughing before snoozing and then heading out to Le Clos Des Capucins for dinner. I forgot to take my camera so no photos of the gorgeous and delicious food. It was one of the best meals I have ever had, and definitely the best Americano I have ever drunk. Filled to the brim on lovely food and drink, all for under £25 each, we headed of to bed with all our worries another world away.
