Canada 2013- Day 9

posted: Friday, 28 June 2013

Today we headed into Toronto for shopping and...poutine.

Our first stop was Mokuba Ribbons which has thousands of rolls of fabulous ribbons and trims. A real feast for the eyes. I managed to restrain myself and only purchased ribbon I know I would bead with. One day.

After shoppng for ribbons we headed to Smoke's Poutinerie. When I told people I was headed to Canada so many of them told me to try Poutine and it seemed to be a 50/50 split as to whether people like it or hated it. Debi and David had never had it either so as 3 poutine virgins we gingerly ordered and sat down to what looked like chips and gravy with bananas on top and tasted...amazing. I can imagine this being just what you need on a cold day. I had never tasted cheese curds before and will have to try and track them down here in the UK.

After lunch we headed to MacFab where we perused fabrics and buttons. The shop was full of colour, texture and inspiration so was a real treat to visit.
