Some More Changes

Just when I can see the end in sight with this project I go and change it all and add extra work. I seem to be a glutton for punishment.

I was happy with the centrepiece/ pendant/ contraption but then realised that some of the way I had beaded it was a hangover from my original idea. And maybe if the design had altered so much, then perhaps the structural way I had made it could also change?

But of course I wouldn't know without a few hours of trying and it would mean a good 9 or so extra hours of beading and losing work I had spent about 12 hours on. But if it worked...

I mean they say 'Nothing ventured, nothing gained' so maybe if I applied it to this situation (and that seems a good motto for 2012 generally)....

So I bit the bullet and redid one section and it seems to have been successful. Of course I won't know for sure, until I make all of the sections, if it actually still functions as I want it to, but at this rate I'm figuring what's an extra 9 hours when the entire project is going to have taken 120+ by the time I finish.

Also, to just add 2 or so more hours I have decided to make a new centrepiece section which can be swapped in and out. I got this lovely Aquamarine crystal from The London Bead Co and am still trying to track down any other interesting 30mm, flat-backed items (crystals, stones, cabochons, glass, plastic- anything) because as crazy as it sounds I am already planning on making another one of these very soon.

Glutton for punishment indeed.

In other news I am now completely addicted to Pinterest and you can check out my boards here.
