London Cocktail Society Christmas Party

Last year I missed the LCS Christmas party, so when I realised my trip to Egypt was postponed, my disappointment was tempered by being able to attend this year's.

The event took place at The Social which has been adopting a unique concept: limiting the basic spirits they use to one brand of each type. You can read more here.

The theme of the evening was that the 3 organisers of the LCS: Mark, Kate and Emma, would all have a go at mixing drinks and for just £3 you could get to try all 9 of them. Each of our bartenders for the night had come up with a menu with a theme and a great time sampling, choosing, voting and chatting was had by all.

Each menu was very different and they all had drinks I would definitely have again, and I even surprised myself by falling in love with one by Mark which contained condensed milk.

The bar itself was gorgeous: all wood panelling and leatherettte seats, and looked as though it had been preserved in time since the 1050s. Just the right place for a social evening with good company, good conversation and good drinks.
