Beading And Bands

The past few days have been spent mainly writing instructions and trying to squeeze in some beading when I can.

I have managed to finish my beaded beads project and have made a bracelet, earrings and a pendant. I enjoyed playing with the colours for this project as the palette I was given said 'icy cool colours such as soft mint, pale lilac and blue'. These are not colours I would usually use, and I did end up using slightly stronger lilacs etc as that's what I had in my stash. But I liked using them and changed my original design so I could add in some cool coloured silver metal to finish.

I'm also working on my latest pentagon bangle. It's slow going and I have 40 sections to bead in total. I'm only on section 14 so there's still some way to go.

Tonight I went to see a band I first fell in love with back in 1988 and who have recently reformed (with one original member), Pop Will Eat Itself. I've waited 23 years to see them live and they didn't disappoint. The experience was severely contrasted with the concert I saw with Kate McKinnon back in May, mainly due to the vast amounts of alcohol that were obviously being consumed- not by me I might add. Combine loud music, large quantities of beer and an excess of testosterone and the atmosphere was a lot more aggressive than the B52s concert, more how I remember UK concerts as being in my distant youth! It was good to have a dance to a band I've loved for so many years even if my ears are still ringing the next day.
