Pictures And Colour

A busy day today trying to catch up with all those emails I haven't replied to over the past two weeks and get myself back on track.

I also have 2 seed bead projects which are due at magazines this week so today was spent finishing them, proofing instructions, taking last minute photos and generally making sure they were all ok.

I also managed to fit in a bit more beading of my bangle and I think I'm now around half the way through. I'm going to have to pull the stops put to get 3 or so of these done in the next week or so!

At one point today I had a panic when I realised that I'm nearly out of one of the colours I'm using in the bangle- and the label has fallen off the tube! Oh no!

This is one of my favourite colours and my brain was telling me the number was definitely 378 but when I Googled it that number is a red- not the sea green/ blue I so love. What to do? I need to order them urgently and I'm not sure I'll have time to go to a shop and try and match them up (and I have now convinced myself that maybe I can't get hold of them in the UK as originally they came from the US at a time when not all Delica colours were sold over here)

So full of panic I began searching. First up I found this very useful website with what seems to be pictures of all the Delica colours but try as I might I just can't see my beads on there. Cue further panic!

A bit more searching gives me the Beaded Images website which has fantastically useful charts with all the finishes of Delica beads on there. With a very small amount of detective work i.e. I look up transparent matte beads in the colour range of bluey-green and it gives me the potential bead number 1268. So I went back to the Foxden chart but it doesn't look like the colour I'm using. But a bit of Google Imaging later gives me lots of photos showing beads of a similar colour and allowing for differences in photos etc I think I've cracked it down- fingers crossed 1268 is the right one. If it is well at least I was right it ended in 8.
