Ring Dilemma

I'm just about awake now from travelling, but my cold which has plagued me for weeks now is still hanging around.

So I am still recovering in bed, but in the meantime here are some photos of a new ring I began beading in Tucson.

I wanted to create a large triangular piece with different levels and a stepped look. I began at the centre and worked outwards deciding on the size and scale as I went. Unfortunately I soon decided I didn't like the 'nubbin' at the top of the ring as I felt it was too high, but I persevered as I knew I could always remove it later. But as I continued to bead I realised I would need to deal with the issue as it was hard to make any further decisions based on how it did look, rather than how I imagined it would look.

So off came the nubbin. But as I did that I realised that actually I would prefer it with large, flat triangle at its centre. But did I want it to have a different colour at the centre? There was no option but to try both options and see which I prefered. In the end I decided to stick with the grey version, but I have had some ideas of changing the whole piece for a different look...
