Late Beading

Late in date and time that is.

Long story short, this project should have been with the photographers by now but I have been let down by a supplier and the bangle blanks I was expecting a few days ago still haven't arrived.

I should have rung them sooner to chase them but foolishly didn't and when I rang them in a panic yesterday I discovered they were still sitting there and if I hadn't rung they would still be sitting there now.

They didn't arrive today before I left the house today so rather than take a risk on my beadwork not fitting on one, or them not turning up before I return home tomorrow, I will have to redo the beadwork so it fits on another bangle blank I am salvaging from another project instead.

It's very annoying as I could do without having to suddenly do 5+ hours of beadwork to replicate the hours of work I have already done but, having no choice in the matter, I knuckle down and bead all the way to the Great British Bead Show on the train and then as soon as I get to the hotel I head to my room and continue beading.

Then after dinner and the great talk by Carole Morris on "Early 17th Century Beadwork Purses, 'Curious Work' from the time of Charles I" it's back to my room for more beading including making up some samples for my class tomorrow to try and make sure I feel confident in the technique before I unleash it on my students.

I have used the technique myself 20+ times to make bangles etc but going over it one last time before I try to sleep reassures me I do know what I'm doing!
