Skating In Helsinki

The weather in the UK has taken a dramatic turn for the worse this week and I had been hit with a stinking cold- just in time for me to fly off into the snow!

My roller derby team and I were due to fly out to Helsinki yesterday to play a match between our B-team (which I am on) and the lovely Kallio Rolling Rainbows.

Unfortunately, the weather has caused a major airport to close, trains to be cancelled and the UK to generally come to a halt. But, just in the nick of time, we were all able to fly out and enjoy the delights of Helsinki and play our game.

I spent most of the time before the bout in bed, so no sightseeing so far, but I managed to get up in time to play. And best of all, not only did we win 192-64, but I won MVP (most valuable player)!
