Beaded Beads And More Web Browsing

posted: Friday, 12 September 2008

More geometric beading this week and I've managed to finish the latest in my series of beaded beads- it's the one on the left in the photo. As you can see I now have 8 of these done- a long way off my target of 88 or at least enough for a necklace. I think my policy of giving them away almost as fast as I bead them is greatly affecting my stash growth!

More web browsing and I was delighted to also track down the makers of a brooch I bought at Bead & Button a few years ago. It's a pink skull brooch and was made by Proper Jewelry which is a collaboration between Amy Johnson and Cynthia Archer Martin- check out their website here. Also look out for a new project inspired by my skull brooch and some other skull in issue 13 of Bead.

One of my favourite websites to visit is Color Lovers and their latest blog post with the post-it notes is fabulous for lovers of colour and stationery! Also check out EepyBird's website for more fun experiments.

I love optical illusions and was delighted to find out there was an annual competition for creating them and have now spent far too long twisting my brain looking at them all here.

If you're always on the look out for something different then Found Shit has exactly what you need. Check the website out for the weird and the wonderful, the artistic and the baffling as well as the fun and crazy!
