Design Museum Day Out

A trip out today to visit the newly reopened London Design Museum especially for their Makers Market.

I mainly wanted to see in person the amazing work of Iris De La Torre and was delighted it was just as gorgeous in real life as online - if not more so.

It was a great fair crammed full of wonderful designers and their inspiring work. Such a visual treat.

The museum itself is unusually designed but as gorgeous as it is there's a real sense of the Emperor's new clothes... I love the look of the stairs but making them seats also makes it very hard for anyone walking up or down, it's single file only which pretty soon lead to queues. And as beautiful as the building is...where are the exhibits?

But the great shops (make sure if you go to look for the one that's in a separate building) made up for it all. So much colour, design and interesting items.

One treat of the day was discovering this picture book by Josef Albers.
