Busy Beady Day

Today was all about beaders with a visit to a local beading group and then a talented beader.

First up I headed to Dangerous Beaders where I got started on a new project (I say new, I actually originally beaded it many years ago but put it aside so I'm having fun trying to remember how on earth I made it!).

Then I headed off to see Katie Dean who is a talented beader & writer and someone who's always fun to spend time with. This time I also had the added treat of being surrounded by her amazing beadwork (which I took some bad snapshots of). Katie's work is so full of colour, texture and life and I could have spent hours just looking at it.

Sadly, like me, Katie has a chronic health condition (which she has written an amazing blog post about) and a lot of our conversation centred around that and the realities of working, and beading, dealing with health issues. I left exhausted but inspired and determined to manage my health and energy better.
