Hampton Court And Painting Canvases

posted: Friday, 26 August 2016

A day out today doing a class at the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court.

My class is on designing & painting canvases for needlepoint and it was good fun to play with colour and do some painting, something I don't do nearly enough nowadays.

After class I took the opportunity to wander the grounds and buildings, including of course getting lost in the maze.

We're still having an amazing heatwave here and I'm glad that part-way through the day I rethought my train & underground hot and stuffy journey home and realised I could get a boat partway and then an overground train the rest.

Sitting on a boat, travelling the Thames and enjoying a G&T all the way to beautiful Richmond beat being stuck in someone's armpit all the way home any day.
