Spurred On

I wrote the other day about projects being underway for a long time and this is another example.

Ever since I first discovered the wonderful Swarovski #2035 flat backs I've been in love with them and used them for many projects such as my Heroine & Lotus necklaces as well as my Zinnia pendant/ brooch.

I also have lots of half-finished designs sitting around waiting for me to continue beading and this fully reversible necklace, using 3 different sizes of the stones, is one I've been beading and playing around with for about 4 years now. I have worked out the finished design but am now playing around with colour choices before I launch it in March as a kit and set of instructions.

But sadly I've just learnt that those magnificent stones have been discontinued by Swarovski. Fortunately I still have somewhat of a stash and I know many shops have so there's no panic on them running out. Yet...

That news about the discontinuation has come at the perfect time as I was looking into making kits when I discovered it so at least I can buy up the last of them I can find.

Fortunately the finished piece isn't entirely dependant on the stones as you can use other items for the centrepieces but as my original design used them I want to keep the kits to them but the instructions will using other 'stones'.
