Jewels And Liberty

Today I took another trip back to the V&A to see the Bejewelled Treasures: The Al Thani Collection exhibition and meet up with more beading friends.

I enjoyed seeing the exhibition for a second time and getting to remind myself of the items I like at the first visit, but I especially loved again getting to hang out with beady people. So much to chat about and catch-up on.

I miss beading chats with people, especially now that so many forums seem to have died a death. I know Facebook and Facebook groups have replaced them but it's not the same. There isn't that ability to easily follow a thread and find areas of conversation you're interested in.

After the museum I headed to the West End to meet another beading friend and wander the shops and get some dinner. Much wandering was done in Liberty as not only is this a beautiful building but it always contain beautiful items and I can spend many hours just perusing the fabric and wallpaper. Excitingly we found a bargain that combined 2 of my loves - Liberty print fabric & cocktails and at less than half-price this cocktail case will sit waiting for a sunny day when it will brighten up a trip to the park.
