I love working away in my new workroom hidden away at the top of the house. I have a little roof terrace that I can go out on and look at the park, catch my breathe and get some calm all whilst being amongst the trees with no-one knowing I'm there.

But today being up there turned scary when all of a sudden it went very dark and the wind took up. Add in thunder and lightning above my head and inches of hailstones falling in a few minutes and I was soon scuttling downstairs unplugging everything on my way.

As the wind continued to swirl the heavens opened and so much rain fell the blanket of hailstones was soon washed away. Then after the deluge the wind disappeared, the sky lightened, the dark clouds went away and the blue sky appeared.

Ten minutes later with the sun shining down you'd never know any of it had happened apart from the little pile of hailstones left on my terrace and the news reports talking of a mini tornado and scenes out of the Wizard of Oz to convince me I hadn't imagined the whole thing.
