Laura McCabe Class

Who doesn't love Laura McCabe and her work? Only a fool would not fall in love with her and her wondrous creations so when someone mentioned many months ago the possibility of attending one of her classes I said yes.

I last did a class with Laura way back in 2006 and it was my first time meeting her and over the couple of days I learnt a lot about beading and teaching. I then got to spend some time with her at the Bead & Button show a couple of months after that so it seems fitting that my next trip to the show and class with her should both come within a couple of months of each other 8 years later.

Today's class was her Egyptian Nouveau Necklace and it was lovely to spend the day sitting and beading just for fun knowing I was never going to have to write up or teach the project.

It was also lovely to catch-up with Laura and compare teaching and travelling notes and nightmares.

I also got to finally meet the equally lovely Jo Prowse who has beaded some samples for me over the years. Her Geometric Suspensions and Caldera Bangles are much treasured by me. Having emailed so much over the years it was a real treat to finally meet in person.
