Two of my favourite people in the world are getting married very soon so we've escaped to France for a few days with them to see my parents and buy vast amounts of wine for the wedding.

Of course we haven't limited our shopping to wine and have so far managed to pick up possibly the world's worst piece of taxidermy (now known as Steve the Squirrel) and some amazing Rum Babas which cleverly (and deliciously) come with pippets of extra rum syrup to inject into them.

My mum is a fantastic cook so if those cakes weren't enough she has plenty more to tempt including a cheesecake which turned out to be the best I ever had.

Add in sunshine and laughs, and ignoring a chair breaking and me ending up on the floor after slamming my back on its metal frame and really hurting myself, and the trip is all the fun I needed.
