Back To The Peacock

Unbelievably I seem to have beaded everything on my 'I need to bead this before I can do anything else' list and although my mind is filled with so many new ideas and projects I can't settle on any particular one and so have rooted out my Emily Peacock tapestry to do.

Finally being sensible I've decided to not only just use the frame I always do but also use my frame holder/ stand to make life easier. Except when I get it out there seems to be far too many pieces of wood for just one holder...and no instructions...

Fortunately Mr Jean Power and Google come to my rescue and we realise that I own two completely different stands (it's been a long time since I've used them!) and Mr Jean Power is clever enough to put one together for me.

So, before I know it, not only am I stitching away but doing it so much faster and more comfortable than I have for a long time. I want to hit myself over the head with the stand when I think of all the hours of uncomfortable, slow and awkward stitching I've done trying to hold the whole thing in my hands and stitch at the same time.

The lesson learned is using the right tools for the job makes a huge difference and I can now see lots more stitching in my future...
