Shopping And Socialising

A friend, Stacy Creamer, is over from New York so it seemed only reasonable I introduce her to some of the shopping delights London has to offer.

Stacy is a real wonder woman- an accomplished beader, stitcher and mother who works a busy job in publishing. Did I mention she was over here to complete in the World Triathlon finals? If she wasn't so truly lovely hanging out with her would cause serious damage to anyone's self-esteem.

First up we hit Liberty which is just such a great shop to visit and I knew there would be some tapestry kits to entice Stacy. Of course I was also enticed and despite having so many things already on the go I couldn't resist a cross-stitch key kit from What Delilah Did (I was tempted by so many others of hers but limited myself to one. For now). I also bought another Emily Peacock kit- this time to stitch my initial on a cushion.

Liberty also sell kits from a great company who I have mentioned before: Fine Cell Work. The company works in prisons in the UK teaching prisoners to stitch which they then do as paid work. Not only does the company sell kits they also can finish your own started, but not completed, work.

After Liberty we headed onto Butler & Wilson which is a shop I really need to learn to stay away from otherwise I'll end up owning everything they sell.

Today I could resist a swallow bracelet and a scorpion ring (amnongst other things...). If you like colour, jewellery and sparkle and wish to be overwhelmed by them all then this is the shop for you.

Once home, despite the fact I have so many other things started I couldn't resist opening one of my new kits and diving in.
