My passport adventure still continues.
Yesterday I rang to get an appointment to replace the missing one and there isn't a London one until the 14th November which would be far too late.
Instead I had the option of getting to Liverpool by 8am this morning (200 miles away which would have meant a £250 train ticket and leaving the house at 3am) or Durham by 11.30 (250 miles away but only a £110 train ticket and leaving the house at 6am).
I chose Durham.
The story of my day is basic. I got there, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, I spent 10 minutes or so handing over my forms and paying and then came all the way home again to get straight into bed.
Ten hours travelling but at least I have the reassurance that I will have a replacement passport in time to travel. I haven't yet computed the possibility that the apartment we have rented may not be possible to stay in etc. I can only cope with so much at one time.
