Pineapples

posted: Sunday, 01 July 2012

Today I decided to take a couple of hours off and explore London by cycle looking for pineapples.

The pineapples we were looking for, ably assisted by Peter Murray, Sam from Bompas & Parr and organisation and bikes from Artouride, are architectural details which you can spot quite a few of in London.

I hadn't ridden a bike in I don't know how many years, and certainly not on the streets of London, so was suitably terrified as we set out, especially as it was raining hard and very misty. But fortunately all that soon cleared and we set off. All together I think we rode around 5 miles through some of London's busiest traffic spots, negotiating Trafalgar Square anyone?!?!? and after the first couple of minutes I relaxed and loved it. Cycle was a great way to see London and I will certainly book in for another tour soon.

The day was helped by sipping tropical cocktails at the end which seemed a just reward for all our hard work.

Then it was back home to make up for the hours off and working until 4am before crawling into bed for 3 hous sleep- this book won't write itself you know.

You can see more photos I took today here.
