Frances Pickering Course 2012-Day 2

posted: Wednesday, 13 June 2012

After sitting in my room for many hours last night drawing onto my cover I'm much happier with it as I head to class this morning. It still needs a lot of work, and colour, added but I can now see that it should work out ok.

Today is therefore spent painting, drawing, sewing, cutting and assembling so the book cover builds up layer by layer.

It really is so much fun sitting and playing with colour and the results are a lot faster than beading!

By the end of the day the cover is much nearer what I want. But I now know I really want to cover the whole thing in tiny stitching except I can't move on with the book until the cover is finished so I can see a lot of stitching in my room later...

After class, and before getting my head down and stitching, I head to Babbacombe Cliff Railway and catch a ride down to Oddicombe beach to sit and catch the last of the days sunshine to recharge my batteries ready for a night of work.
